There are a number of Tennis Tournaments taking place over the year in Cyprus, both official Cyprus Tennis Federation (CTF) ones and amateur one.
For the CTF tournaments, you can get an update on the Cyprus Tennis Federation website, download the calendar_2011 and entry forms, find out the draws and results.
To enter, you need to be registered with the Cyprus Tennis Federation. To do this, you need to get the forms from the Federation and a medical is required. More information and the registration forms can be found at https://cyprustennis.wordpress.com/2010/10/13/cyprus-tennis-explains-how-to-register-with-the-cyprus-tennis-federation/
There are also other amateur Tennis Tournaments around the island:
– ATL (www.atlcyprus.com). The Amateur Tennis League is growing rapidly. They have regular tournaments across all the major towns and are suitable for all levels from beginners playing their first match through to semi-pros. The tournaments are split into categories for each ability level, aimed at providing maximum enjoyment. Usually you are given two weeks to organise the match with your opponent. It’s not expensive, just €10 per tournament, or €75 for the whole year and you don’t have to be Nadal to enter -it’s about having fun. And, it’s a great way to find people to play with 🙂
– MadForTennis http://www.mad4tennis.com.cy/index.php. They are great fun as well. Everyone who takes part is passionate about tennis. You organise between yourselves to play before the deadline and they take place about 4 times year. It’s 10 Euros to enter each category. Even better, if there aren’t enough women to playing in your town, they allow the women to play in the men’s draw 🙂
